HOE JE JE HAAR DOET

– Belle's Cut from Beauty and the Beast –

After the success of Elsa last week I asked in the editorial office which Disney princess has the most beautiful hair. Belle was the answer. I'm happy with that because I've seen the movie about three hundred times. I can now dream the hairstyle, but making it myself, no way. So I need to practice and you need to get to work too, because Belle's cut is totally in right now. It's actually seen a lot on the catwalk. So whether you're a fan of the movie or not, there are plenty of reasons to create that voluminous cut.

What do you need?

Bobbi pins and a loving person who doesn't handle your hair too roughly, because believe me; you can't do this trick on your own. A can of hairspray and a brush are also wise to have on hand. This Belle hairstyle is for girls with long hair, so if you don't have that, you'll need to use a wig or extensions.

How do you do it?

It looks very difficult, but you don't have to do much yourself. So let the person who is helping you read this. Start with the top section of your hair, twist it a few times and secure it on the right side of your head with a bobbi pin. If you have very fine hair, it might help to spray it beforehand with beach spray, which makes it a bit stiffer but doesn't lose its shine. Then take a section on the right, twist it over your previous section and secure it on the left side of your head. Of course, the idea is to work downwards. You're kind of zigzagging. Continue until you reach the bottom of your head and have no more space left to secure sections. Then you will have a kind of ponytail hanging at the bottom. Take a thick section from here and wrap it around the rest of the ponytail. Also secure this section well and there you go, Belle is ready. If it's too tight, you can always pull the sections a bit looser because messy is allowed.
