Roos van Binsbergen is the owner of Beauty by Roos. Yes, of the extensions, with which she transforms any collapsed hairstyle into a voluminous hairdo. Jet is also a fan, but we were of course very curious about the lady behind all this beauty.
Morning ritual
“My morning routine is the same every day. I take a shower and wash my hair once every three days with my own products from Hairloxx. Those products are based on the scent of prosecco, so that’s a good start to the morning. After washing, I apply a serum in my hair from the same brand and blow-dry it into shape. I cleanse my face with Clarisonic and then I apply a cream from Philosophy on my skin. After that, I put on my makeup from M.A.C, drink a fruit juice, and usually eat quark with seeds and nuts.”
5 minutes make-up
“I do my makeup every day in five minutes. I have two children, so it can be quite busy in the morning. I first apply my foundation from M.A.C and then the Touche Éclat from Yves Saint Laurent. I fill in my eyebrows with eyebrow powder from Anastasia and then apply mascara from Lancôme. Lastly, I also use a blush from M.A.C. In terms of fragrance, my favorite is the one from Just Cavalli. It smells very sweet and makes me very happy.”
Eyebrows or eyelashes
“Actually, I find both very important, but if I haven’t done my eyebrows, then something just feels off. Eyebrows really determine the expression of your face, so if I had to choose, I would go for eyebrows.”
Nails
“Nails are very important to me. Especially in my profession, it’s important since we work with our hands. Customers also constantly see our hands in the mirror, so nails really need to be well-groomed. I always have the problem with nail polish that it chips very quickly. That’s why I now use gel polish from CND. Red is my favorite color. I have about twenty different shades of red.”
Never leave home without
“I don’t leave my house without my phone. In terms of beauty products, I always have a hand cream from Philosophy, a hairbrush from Hairloxx, and a lipstick from M.A.C with me.”
Million dollar tip
“Very obvious, but my tip is really: hair extensions. It’s not just for people with thin hair, but it can also work very well for people with beautiful hair of their own. It simply makes your hairstyle a lot more beautiful and fuller. And who wouldn’t want that…”
The hair image
“I am positively surprised that Dutch women are increasingly concerned with their hair. Especially when you compare it to ten years ago. There is also more and more knowledge about hair and there are plenty of tutorials available online on how to create a beautiful hairstyle for yourself. I’m very happy about that. I do think that the weekday hairstyle should go, namely the ponytail. It can really be a bit more glamorous than that. Every woman should blow-dry and style her hair. So that can still be improved.”
The tip regarding extensions
“The most important thing about extensions is that they must be applied correctly. So always go to a professional place for this and get good advice. Not every extension fits every hair structure, so that’s something that should always be looked at carefully. After applying the extensions, it’s important to take very good care of them. Don’t be too gentle when brushing, but just brush it twice a day. What you should never do, even if you don’t have extensions, is sleep with wet hair. Furthermore, you can do everything with extensions. Coloring, styling, all no problem.”
Biggest style icon
“I have a lot of respect for Máxima. It’s not necessarily my style, but I think she does it so well in the role she has. She is classy, but also up-to-date with fashion and trends. She is also one of the few royals who regularly uses hairpieces. I really think she is a very beautiful woman.”
