You understand, Youri is at the helm there. So Youri, take it away and tell us about those looks and how you are going to help us all look beautiful throughout the day. je haar met een föhn.. “I prefer to give everyone a glamorous look. For the hair, that means a nice middle part, lots of hair, lots of volume, and a good shine. For the makeup, of course, a very glowy skin and nude lips. I always discuss with the client what look they have in mind and what type of person they are. Not everyone can have that glamorous look, or it needs to be fine-tuned to the person. I don’t only do glamorous looks, but that is definitely my signature. It’s special to create because it can make everyone feel very confident and someone can feel very sexy because of it.

Signature look

“I always find it very fun to create a complete picture. Makeup and hair are then completely coordinated. However, I do think it shouldn’t be too done. There should definitely be a breaking point. For example, if you have a classic hairdo, you don’t necessarily have to go for a red lip. It would then become too obvious. Beautifully made up but not too done is what I find beautiful.”.

Favorite style icon”

“I don’t have one favorite. It’s a bit of Jennifer Lopez mixed with Kate Moss. I really like J.Lo's makeup and the rough edge of Kate. They have also changed quite a bit in terms of looks and bring something new every time while still holding on to their style. I keep an eye on that development and find it very fun. It also brings inspiration.”

“Red carpet do’s and don’ts”

“Nowadays, quite a lot is possible on the red carpet. It’s no longer a standard look, you can go in so many directions. However, I do think you really need to take your time. If you think you can quickly make a braid, it soon becomes quite ‘girl next door’.

“Do’s & don’ts hair.

Do’s I really find shiny hair. Just let your hair be done by a hairstylist. It will always look so much better than if you are fumbling with the hairdryer yourself. Moreover, it will stay in place well for the entire event, which is nice with photographers capturing you for life. Don’ts are of course visible bobby pins.

Do’s & don’ts makeup.

Chipped nail polish, clumps in the eyelashes, undone eyebrows; it can actually go wrong in many areas. The skin also really needs good attention. It must be very even and perfectly glowy. The primer is a must, but it does depend on what kind of primer you use. Oh, and don’t forget fake lashes. The bigger, the better.”

Biggest misconception”

“I still see and hear people putting conditioner all over their hair so often. Really a shame, because the hair becomes very limp and greasy. Conditioner should really only be applied to the ends for care and definitely not on the roots or throughout your hair. In the makeup world, people put bronzer or powder all over the face. Then you just become a pancake. So apply it really locally instead of all-over. I also find eyebrows very important. It’s better to have them done, unless you can do it very well yourself.”

“From day to night look”

“If you want a good hair look in the evening, it’s best to take some time the night before. If you curl your hair well, you can wear it in a loose bun the next morning (day look) and shake it out in the evening for the nightwear. It’s actually at its best then. For the makeup, you put on an extra layer of mascara (a fake lash also works wonders) and you can get started with some bronzer under the cheekbones and add some highlight. Oh, and an eyeliner can also make a difference.

“Curious about the nice looks from the Express Bar? On Saturday you will see the first look online. Then you can try all those tips at home in front of the mirror or just hop by The Building. So keep an eye on the site.
