BEST OF BERLIN

JOSSELIN'S TRIP TO THE CREATIVE AND TRENDY CITY

Last weekend, I put my sneaker on the gas pedal of North (read: our beloved Renault Twingo) to be the trendiest fashion girl in Berlin. Now I really pulled out my Kenzo sneaker from the closet to somewhat meet that image, of course I had that cute Twingo at my disposal, I went to the coolest city where I had already stripped all the shops three times before and my handsome man was sitting in the passenger seat. So all the ingredients for a good weekend were present.

Now Berlin really sounds far away, but hey, it's really only a six-hour drive. And a big advantage, you don't have to stick to the twenty-kilo limit and a suitcase where everything has to fit, because you can of course fill the trunk without any weight limit. Now that trunk is actually quite large, so that limit turned out to be infinite and I never filled it. Thank god, because I really wanted to shop quite a bit in Berlin. The only problem I had, luggage, turned out to be immediately dismissed.

Those six hours of driving then. Okay, in my case eight on the way there, because I really pressed that gas pedal to 140 but unfortunately had the Twingo no wings to avoid the traffic jam. Because of that, I got to know the navigation system as the best, because while I was stuck in traffic I discovered all the buttons to avoid the traffic jam. The ‘avoid traffic’ button turned out to be my best friend and the navigation system quickly saved me some minutes of wasted time. I did have the roof open (because nice weather) and put the USB stick with favorite music in the car, because German radio seemed terrible to me. I had settled into a sporty seat which made me extremely relaxed during the traffic jam. So actually, the ride was super relaxed.

After eight hours in the Twingo, by the way, just six hours on the way back, we arrived in Berlin. It was Fashion Week. Nice and all, but I happily skipped all those shows. The city is so much more fun and trendy and I really don't need Fashion Week for that. Now I can write lengthy texts about all the tips. Because in Mitte you have the coolest concept stores, shopping is done at Bikini Berlin where all the hipsters hang out, at the Berlin Wall you spot hundreds of tourists but also get to see the most creative side of Berlin, and in Prenzlauer Berg they have the best terraces. Oh, and the cocktails are at the Monkey Bar (yes indeed, a view of the monkeys in the zoo) and you roll into bed at the 25hours Hotel where all the trendy people gather.

I'm going to type it all out for you and put it in order, but for now you can watch this video. I'll take you on a weekend trip to Berlin in two minutes and it gives you a nice shortcut to the coolest trendy spots.

I understand. You're curious. On Sunday, I'm going to immerse you completely in the coolest addresses in Berlin. Where you must eat, drink cocktails, sleep, and especially where you must shop. Where you park your car super relaxed in front of the door to load your trunk completely and where you actually want to be parked forever because it's so nice. So Sunday. Countdown time.
