With each passing day, we become more jealous of Carolien, the question is: Will she come back? Read along…
Our favorite pastime here in LA is: eating, eating, and eating some more. In the morning, I already make plans to have lunch at that one nice vegan spot or to try out that new restaurant with friends in the evening. Yesterday it was Odys + Penelope's turn and it was a huge success! The menu consists of ’food to share‘, which is ideal for me since I can never choose just one dish… And everything was equally delicious!
I really do my best to hold back when it comes to shopping, but every now and then I just have to give in. For years, I've been looking for affordable, stylish over-the-knee boots and when I saw this pair from Rebecca Minkoff ‘on sale’ (not entirely unimportant), it was one of those moments to strike.
I know, this looks like Disney's Main Street but I was (unfortunately) not visiting Minnie and Mickey… This shopping center called The Grove is right in the heart of LA and besides looking around, you can also shop till you drop at places like GAP, Diane von Furstenberg, and Nordstrom.
Okay, okay, this week I was in shopping ecstasy twice and couldn't hold myself back. From the moment Pharrell was spotted with this hat, I knew: one day, a gem like that would also be on my head. So when I walked past the Vivienne Westwood store on Melrose Ave and saw the hat in the window with my name written all over it, before I knew it, I was outside again with a soft pink bag in my hands… Move over Pharrell, there’s a new sheriff in town!
I truly feel like I've experienced more here in 5 weeks than in the past two years at home, and I'm not exactly sitting still in Amsterdam either. Last Sunday was another very special day: we flew with our ‘pilot’ Mark van Eeuwen to Catalina Island for a lunch by the water. It felt like we were in a movie! Jon was immediately hooked after he got to fly a bit himself (me with sweaty armpits in the back…) and now he wants to get his pilot's license at all costs. You understand: one of the first flights we make will be ‘just’ back and forth to Paris for a lunch at La Durée to fly back at the end of the day with a full bag of macarons. Of course, with a stop at the Amayzine Headquarters to deliver a box!
