Now that Carolien has a week where she works every day from 8 PM to 6 AM, a healthy diet is of course part of it to keep that up a bit. Are you reading along?
It can't have escaped anyone's notice: last week Amsterdam Sail turned the whole city upside down. You couldn't open your social media without seeing tons of friends chilling on boats or standing on the quay enjoying all the beautiful ships that passed by. Together with Jon, I had the pleasure of opening the Sail week with a five-course dinner at pop-up restaurant L’invité.
Once we arrived at Java Island, we had to walk an hour around to get to the other side, but luckily it was worth the walk. The company was a party, the food delicious, and we danced into the late hours to the tunes of the Cat Carpenters. Now we unfortunately have to wait another five years. Maybe they can make Sail an annual event, please?!
Now that I get a thick layer of makeup almost every day for the film shoots of Sneekweek, I notice that my skin is slowly starting to protest. Bumps and rough spots are appearing that I've never seen before. My new ritual: every morning and evening I apply a thick layer of Merino Aloe Vera cream to hydrate my skin extra well. Now let's hope this keeps working for the coming month…
Last week it felt like autumn was slowly setting in. Not very handy now that we are shooting a summer film. So as soon as those few rays of sunshine come around the corner, we make the most of it! And with this cheerful Coco Bonito cord on my glasses, the sun will shine automatically.
After 10 years, I finally got to be on set with Marly again. In the film, we aren't really best friends, but as soon as the camera is off, we are inseparable. ‘Could we be a bit quieter in between, we weren't in the pub...’ But we have so much to discuss! Now we sneakily go to another room to quickly catch up about Sammy, our men, and that one must-have winter coat. How cool is it to work with your best friends?
Now that I work five days a week from 8 PM to 6 AM, my rhythm is quite disturbed. At 11 PM we have ‘lunch’ and after the wrap at 6 AM, we all stand around a shawarma sandwich. Time for a healthy snack to indulge in between shoots!
On Instagram, I saw this recipe for a blueberry/yogurt cake. I replaced the sugar with bananas and instead of Greek yogurt, I use Abbot Kinney’s Coconut Yogurt. I'm curious if the crew finds this just as tasty as a shawarma sandwich in between: it's definitely healthier…
