Amayzine

Go see that

Exactly two years ago, Amayzine was not yet online, but Jet and I were already playing office. Flowers had to be there, scented candles had to burn. And, I exclaimed, every day there had to be a fashion film visible on a screen. Just for inspiration.

Life Through a Lens by Annie Leibovitz, l’Amour Fou about Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, Signé Chanel and of course The September Issue were shown. Meanwhile, we are far too busy and too big to play a film every day and talk about the importance that designer had in fashion.

But I do long for it, because the nice thing about these films is that they are just as addictive as Sex and the City but give you just a little bit more.

That's why I was so disappointed that it just wouldn't work out between Dior & I and myself. Liesbeth and I were invited to the premiere at the Amsterdam Ketelhuis. Deadlines and an unexpected sales visit put a line through the agenda. No worries, there would be a Dior event afterwards where the film would be shown. But Jossselin was going there and I had to go abroad. There was also a safety net here.

Zalando organized a little boat trip through the canals where the group could see the film afterwards. Ideal mix. A boat AND the nicest people from the industry AND finally Christian Dior and I together. But, this lady was in Paris for fashion week and no matter how hard our little North tried, she could do nothing about the traffic jam near Antwerp. So the film passed me by for the third time.

The good news is that it is now simply playing in theaters and I can go at any time. Want to go together?
