Tonight we can let loose again with Holland’s Next Top Model and in this episode Kim Feenstra joined as a guest judge. That was fun and familiar, because last year we also sat next to each other like that. We immediately bonded thanks to a makeup artist who didn’t speak English and had a preference for lots of red lipstick, tight curls, and blue eyeshadow. And oh yes, without a mirror. If you want to read how it ended, you should here just click, but Kim and I shared a trauma and were therefore jury friends.

So now we saw each other again. After the ritual what-are-you-wearing-and-who-is-it (in my case an embroidered dress by Rochas with shiny blue Jimmy Choo’s underneath) through compliments about each other’s shoes and the confession that they are not too painful to wear, we got to the real work; making jokes.

The biggest compliment Kim can give you is that ‘you’re nice and streetwise’. I didn’t receive that compliment (my mother worked just a bit too hard for that), but I think Kim is always so straightforward. In her HNTM days, she was always seen as way too sexy ‘but just look where it has brought me’ and with the tech guys, she reminisced about their good old days with the hilarious highlight (or was it a lowlight) that Kim lost her hearing aid during a shoot on the beach and all the camera and sound guys were searching for that skin-colored thing that you would never see on the beach.

You know what’s great about Kim? She doesn’t do anything to make things prettier. And that’s really not necessary with her looks and personality either.
