Update:
striking hairstyle trends
What is it fashion universe is quite a funny little world, isn’t it? Sometimes they throw in a trend that makes you think: ‘Are you for real?’ It’s up to you whether to follow it or not. These trends are certainly striking.
Bobby pins
We used to try so hard to hide them: now visible hairpins are totally hot. Take a section, smear it with a generous dollop of gel, and pin it back to the side of your hair with about ten hairpins. If Rihanna it’s wearable, it should be fine, right?
Jenny from the block
My friend, a hairstylist for the Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks, already said a few months ago: “We’re going back to ghetto baby!” Do you remember J.Lo’s ‘I’m Real’ clip with Ja Rule? Our so-called diva had her baby hairs glued to her head there too. When ghetto meets fashion, suddenly this was the catwalk hair. Even our Doutzen had to believe it during the Givenchy show. It creates a, well how should I put it, ‘unique’ look, doesn’t it?
Braid in the middle of your head
I think this is a fun one: a narrow braid that runs straight through your middle part. We saw it on Kate Bosworth during Coachella. Lovely girl, lovely hair.
The quiff
I come from Nijmegen, a beautiful little town in Gelderland near the German border. I remember well that many of our eastern neighbors came shopping in my town on the weekends. The German women were easy to recognize by their huge quiffs. I didn’t find that sexy at all back then, so my connotation with the quiff is not exactly hot. Until my favorite woman Scarlett Johansson gave herself the coolest quiff ever . Now the quiff and I are thick friends, you understand.
Two braids
Yes, you read that right: the two little girl braids are back. Normally, this hairstyle is only for me while skiing, because I want to look like a cool snowboard chick despite my skis. But if Lily Aldridge wears it, then it can just be back, girls. For example, in the summer on the beach. Fishtail, move over!
