Here you will find the most beautiful wedding dresses

IN NEW YORK.

From an idyllic fairy tale in Sweden to a sea of roses in the Netherlands, and then an absolutely unforgettable thousand-and-one-night wedding with at least two thousand-and-one candles in Morocco. A dream. That and only that was our summer season of weddings a.k.a. our weddingcation.

But all that romantic stuff, where I have shed a tear more than once, also has a downside. For me, that is, because I am next. And I wonder how. How on earth am I going to arrange this? What do I want? I also want countless candles, hundreds of roses, violin music, and flamingos in the pool. And that is just a glimpse of the 1001 ideas that have already been gathered in several mood boards. The plans are overflowing, my head is spinning, and all those lists from wedding planners in magazines stress me out even more. According to them, I am already three steps behind. The guest list including addresses should have been an Excel file on my laptop, the venue should already be confirmed, and all requests for photographers should definitely have been sent out. How then?

Breathe in, breathe out. First things first. And what ‘first’ is, is easy for a bride-to-be with a big heart for fashion: the dress. Will it be Galia? Berta? Pronovias? Or more timeless like Delphine? I don't know. What I do know is where you need to be in New York. And I mean with others than at Kleinfeld or Saks Bridal. Here are the absolute best bridal shops: from the Israeli va-va-voom designs to vintage lace in which princesses from Monaco got married years ago.

‘Breathe in, breathe out. First things first.’

Stone Fox Bride

Awarded “Best Anti-Bridezilla Bridal Showroom in New York” by The New York Times, Stone Fox is known for flower crowns, bohemian brides in fluttering silk, and vintage veils. As they describe it themselves: ‘No fluff, no puff,’ but ‘insanely cool’. And I can't help but agree.

Alon Livne White

Having worked for Alexander Wang among others and winner of the Israeli ‘Project Runway”, Alon Livne has proven to be a true wunderkind in designing wedding dresses. Glamorous and refined at the same time. Quite a bit sexy, but not too much. Find him at Mark Ingram Atelier. A super chic boutique on the Upper East Side, also featuring names like Oscar de la Renta and Jenny Packham on the shelves.

Delphine Manivet

Where Paris and New York meet is at Delphine Manivet. Her designs are super elegant, dreamy, and timeless. And with a motto “The dress should be a girl’s only make-up”, you understand that Delphine's designs are gems.

‘How on earth am I going to arrange this? What do I want?’

Daughters of Simone

For the bohemian bride, Daughters of Simone it is a true nirvana. Romantic vintage lace with a rebellious edge. That is Daughters of Simone. Led by two sisters, raised by free-spirited “flower children”. The perfect place for the non-traditional dress.

Carol Hannah

The flowing goddess dresses from Carol Hannah are fairy-tale-like. From handmade bead patterns to non-traditional powdery colors. They are jewels!

Pronovias

The fitting rooms are almost as big as some stores here. But that fits the brand of glamorous sparkling dresses. The Spanish Pronovias is surely known to you, if only for the bizarre fashion shows featuring world-famous models. The gigantic flagship store, with those gigantic fitting rooms, can be found on the Upper East Side.

L’Fay

L’Fay falls into the same category as Kleinfeld and Saks. And despite my intention to avoid exactly this kind of all-round stores within this list, I cannot overlook L’Fay. The reason? Berta Bridal. I marvel daily at all the beauty that comes by. And I am not the only one. With nearly 800 thousand followers on Instagram, Berta is one of the most popular. The lace, the sexy vibe... Oh oh, Berta you are amazing. And, available only at L’Fay in New York.
