The most beautiful and pleasant workplace
I know it's still the weekend, but tomorrow we can get back to work and I'm sure you're really looking forward to it. At least I am. At work, I have an incredibly nice workplace and at home, I can't complain either. Jet and Liesbeth always call it a craft room where I work from home, but I think some pretty nice ideas come out of that craft room and they're just quite jealous. To make sure you don't dread going back to work tomorrow, I've gathered the most beautiful inspiration ideas and some tips to make it all a bit more pleasant. Bet that from now on you'll jump out of bed every Monday and look forward to getting back to work ?
1. Light Natural light works best. So slide your desk nicely towards the window. Are you working by the canal or in a place where there's a lot of distraction when you look out a window? No problem. Then you work by the window but with your back to it. Same idea, just a bit quieter. If you don't have the luxury of a lot of daylight or windows, make sure to have good desk lamps that emit a lot of light. So not a small lamp that looks really cool but barely gives off a beam of light, but just a good lamp. That provides nicer light than the fluorescent tubes that are probably hanging in offices and this is also good for your peace of mind.
2. Organize I sit at a desk block with two of the nicest colleagues, one of whom can make quite a mess of the desk. I won't name names, but the person in question knows it well about themselves. Now I'm not saying this applies to that colleague, but a mess on the desk causes a lot of wasted time and missed deadlines for many people. A tidy desk is a nice desk. Speaking of organizing. The desk of the other colleague is full of notebooks and planners and that's really handy. It clears your desk, as it's not cluttered with post-its, and it sets realistic goals and ensures that you start working organized. 3. Provide greenery Green is good. Now I'm really bad at taking care of plants, but they seem to do well in an office. They make people more productive, help you avoid that afternoon slump, and keep you alert. Moreover, you don't have to go for a grand plant right away; a small cactus will do just fine.
4. Color Color is also good. Our office is really whiter than white, but that also stands for something. Namely for an open space, an open mind, and an open feeling. If you work in a yellow room, that's also good for creativity because it inspires. Red is good for psychological work and blue for the analytical part.
5. Make it personal To get back to my nice colleague who finds it a, in her own words, ‘organized chaos’ on the desk. There's something that she does well. She has made the desk very personal. Photos, fresh flowers, notebooks, and cards make it less of an office job and more of a happy place to work.
