I prefer going to the sun rather than standing on the slopes, but now that everything is a bit up in the air and I've taken my winter coat out of the closet again, I actually feel incredibly excited about snow again. Bring on that fireplace and cheese fondue. Getting up in the dark in the morning will never be something I get used to, so that's always a bit of a struggle, but in general, the winter months are really fun, you know. I'll give you tips on how to prevent a dip. And I mainly write them down because I can learn something from them myself.

– GET OUT OF BED. Ha, this is definitely one for myself as well. Set the alarm, jump in the shower, and make an appointment with a friend. Once you've taken that first step out of your bed and then the second step out the front door, you're almost over the dip. I know that because I recognize it. I would prefer to stay under the covers all day, but really, you don't get anywhere with that.

– Go to bed earlier. Then you'll be happier in the morning. It's already dark anyway, so snuggle up under the covers. Put on a movie and you'll doze off. Around 10:30 or so? That should be doable, right?

– Oh yes, when you go to sleep, open the window a little bit. You might think brrrr, but you'll sleep wonderfully with that. Don't make your room too warm either.

– Don't make it too dark for yourself; in general, you get energy from light. Don't just hang around at home all day, but go outside. Look, these are little cafes with an outdoor heater. That's what you want, I know it.

– Buy vitamin D drops. Those vitamins mainly come from the sun, but that's not really around much right now. The sun makes you happy, so these drops do too.

– You could also try drinking two cups of St. John's wort tea every day (you can buy that at the organic supermarket). This helps give you a slightly more positive feeling. Really.

– Be kind to yourself. I mean: make your home cozy, light candles, fill your fridge, have a glass of wine or make a chai tea latte, buy flowers, invite friends over for dinner, wear your nicest clothes, and play your favorite music. Really do it. I'm saying it one more time. Be kind to yourself!
