I don't mind a few days of detoxing. In other words, it's about cleansing your body. Just no sugar, coffee, animal products, and fast carbohydrates like white pasta. Sounds like a lot, and it actually is. If you plan to do a detox, you need to prepare well for it. You have to be strong, because you won't be consuming much in a day and you might feel quite sluggish. Why on earth do such a cleanse then? Because after a few days, you will feel really good. Sharp, energetic and (literally) lighter. A hardcore detox consists of Only. But. Juices. And, the greener (less sweet), the better the cleansing.

You can dive into the kitchen yourself, but there are also many juice bars that make the juices for you, and some even deliver them to your door. My favorites:

Detox Delight

What: You only get juices, so that means no thick smoothie that might be a bit more filling. You can choose between different programs. Just juices or also a soup with it or in the evening a salad. You can make it as ‘heavy’ as you want.

Juice

What: seven cheerful colored bottles per day. Here too, it's mainly very liquid, so you shouldn't expect smoothies. Every two hours you can take a bottle, some a bit sweeter than others. There are also diehards with wheatgrass. Green green green.

Innerwave

What: Here you make your own smoothies yourself. So it doesn't really belong in this list, but I am a big fan of this cleanse. During the day you build your own smoothies and in the evening you make soup. You also get a lot of supplements and powders for optimal cleansing, and it also helps against a tremendous feeling of hunger. This cleanse lasts long by the way. 17 days, of which 5 days only liquid food.

Pick up or home delivery: The package with instructions and supplements is sent to your home.

Pick

What: seven juices, as green as you want and made by juice bar Pluk Amsterdam located on Reestraat. One juice is a bit thicker in consistency than the other, and each bottle has a number, so no thinking required. How easy peasy do you want it? Every day you also get a cup of hot chocolate made from almond milk and cocoa, and that's really a treat. So delicious!

Pick up or home delivery: You pick them up yourself every day, but that's no punishment, because the girls who work there are incredibly nice, and you get a personal card with your juices each time that gives you that little boost.
