pre-workout snacks

Exercising on an empty stomach is not a good idea. First of all, you have little energy to train optimally and secondly, your body needs food to get that engine (digestion) going. It's nonsense that you burn the most by not eating anything before you a workout start, there should actually be something in your stomach oto let fat burning do its work.

Now I may be strict with you, but I also skip it sometimes. Especially when it's very early in the morning and I'm going for a jog. Usually, I just take a glass of lemon juice and grab a few unsalted nuts. That’s it.

‘It can't be that bad’ I thought. Recently, I read somewhere that if you eat before a workout, your energy level throughout the day increases significantly. Your immune system also works much better and your blood sugar level remains stable (less chance of candy attacks). Enough reasons for me to get up a little earlier to eat something. It doesn't have to be a full plate as long as there is something nutritious in your stomach that is also easily digestible.

Tips for a pre-workout snack

  • Rice cake with peanut butter.
  • A grapefruit and a boiled egg.
  • Bowl of oatmeal with almond milk and blueberries.
  •  Green smoothie with spinach, banana, blueberries, and coconut water.
