MAY IS HAVING A HARD TIME
It's just that I don't smoke, but otherwise I would have had the immense luxury of having a new car even before the ashtray was full. Thanks to our close ties with Renault, I have been able to enjoy quite a bit of nice things this year.
Via our editorial buddy Twingo we dove into the Espace and then made a splash with the Renault Kadjar, and since yesterday I'm driving a beautiful red Renault Captur.
Asking me what my favorite is would be like asking me to choose between my Granville from Dior and the matelassé from Chanel. Because Twingo stole my heart because it's so cute, has the smallest turning circle ever, the highest chance factor, and of course drives extremely cheaply, leaving you with a lot of shopping money.
Then I was drenched in the luxury that Espace has (read here just what that all entails) and afterwards I got to start in a brand new model: the Renault Kadjar.
‘It's compact but cool.’
That came pretty close to my perfect car. A real car where kids and loved ones fit in and that also has a bizarrely large trunk with a double compartment where you can hide new purchases for your loved one. Yes, hugely unfeminist, but still I do it. Sometimes, you know.
But now there is this Captur. It's called an urban crossover, and that basically means you can do everything with it and it fits everywhere. It's compact but cool. You park it laughing on Het Singel, but you can also take it off the road. It has a dashboard so spacious that you could serve a high tea on it, the coolest glove compartment ever (it's actually a drawer and big as it is. Big...). Instead of those frumpy pockets that are against the back of the driver's and passenger's seat, this Captur has really cool elastic bands stretched where you can wedge your stuff in. By the way, I think the chance factor is also quite good.
People, I'm still not sure. Can I keep trying?
