Travel

I am writing this piece on my intensely large bed surrounded by two even more immense mirrors. My travel companion noted that by the time you can afford this hotel, you are so old that you no longer want to look at yourself in the mirror, but I can tell you, with dimmed light, that works just fine. I am not complaining.

Le Royal Monceau is where I hang out. A five-star hotel that was revamped a few years ago by Philippe Starck. French tradition with the freshness of Starck, I would say. A room where you can dance and a bed so large that my whole family can join in. The only problem is that I lost my earring last night and I have to comb through the entire bed to find it. Yes, yes, luxury problem but still.

What I didn't know, and you might not either, is that Natalie Portman met her husband during the filming of Black Swan. A dancer. For this opera, he is the Director of the Dance and I even saw him walking for a moment. Benjamin Millepied (thousand feet) is his name, which is quite funny for a dancer. By the way, Natalie is outside the opera with a campaign for Dior, so the Portman-Millepied-Opera Garnier circle was nicely complete.

So now I am going to swim in that Philippe Starck bath and dive into the Parisian life. Bonne journée…
