10 x Grammy’s 2015
At award shows like the Golden Globes, Baftas or Oscars, everyone usually stays pretty much in line, but what’s so fun about the Grammys is that both the organization and the guests color a bit outside the lines.
Again this year, people were short on eyes and ears to keep up with all the crazy scenes happening on the red carpet, the stage, in the hall, and at the after parties. With this overview of the 10 most striking things from the Grammy Awards 2015, you’re completely up to date.
Madonna
Madonna walked the red carpet in a ‘dominatrix meets matador’ outfit specially made for her by Givenchy. As if the outfit, which later turned out to be themed with her Grammy performance, wasn’t eye-catching enough, Madge decided to treat onlookers to a glimpse of her toned backside.
Rihanna
Rihanna tops all best dressed lists today with her stunning appearance in a giant cotton candy Giambattista Valli dress. It was very refreshing to see RiRi in an outfit that didn’t aim to be super sexy, but went for a dream of a couture dress.
Beyoncé poses with Kim Kardashian
Everyone knows there’s quite a bit of tension between these divas. Queen Bey has always felt a bit too good for the reality star, but now that she’s married to family friend Kanye, she can’t always avoid her. However, she often managed to dodge the photographers. The last photo of Kim and Bey together dates back to 2012. But hey, Beyoncé had just won four Grammys and was in a good mood, so a snapshot with Kim was also fine. If it makes that kid happy.
Kanye
It took him quite a while to boost his persona non grata status after he brutally interrupted MTV VMA winner Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech in 2009. When Beck won an award over Beyoncé last night, it seemed Kanye was going to pull the same stunt again, but he held back just in time. Much to Jay and Bey’s relief.
Tiesto wins Grammy, Mr. Probz does not
Dutch success at the Grammys for DJ Tiesto. He received the golden turntable for his remix of John Legend’s All of Me. Dutchman Mr. Probz missed out on the American music award because of this.
Sam Smith wins 4 Grammys
Sam Smith’s songs are being belted out all over the world, and his significant win last night shows that he is the new big star in the music world.
Sia and Kristen Wiig
Sia tried to come across unrecognizable on the red carpet by wearing an absurdly large wig on her head. Fail. Her performance of the song Chandelier was already remarkable because actress Kristen Wiig turned out to be one of the background dancers..
Annie Lennox does Hozier
Not Madonna (the reviews of her performance were lukewarm) but Annie Lennox blew the audience away with her performance of Hozier’s Take me To Church in combination with I Put A Spell On You.
Taylor Swift in Elie Saab
