Manolo goes big, bigger, biggest

When you think New York you think Manolo. The shoe label whose rise to fame came from none other than our beloved Carrie from Sex and the City. Mister Blahnik is one of the few designers who single handedly puts together his shoes, and even gives them a little spin before they are released. The company has been celebrating its success for dozens of years but there is a new milestone on its way: the biggest Manolo boutique in the world. This shop-in-shop will be 100 m2 next to Saks Fifth Avenue. I think that says it all.

BARE BOOBS IN TOWN

Times Square is obviously known for it’s bright lights and its tourist overdose. But also for the men suited up in absurd costumes for photos. And as of late, there is something new to add to your New York photo diary: naked women covered in body paint sporting feather headdresses. However, the mayor has banned it. Bare boobs is a no-go. And that has caused quite a bit of a brawl. Or better yet, a boobie brawl. Roughly 300 women, so a calculated 600 naked breasts, were spotted protesting last week. Their argument: why are bare male upper bodies allowed to wander around the streets, and are female ones prohibited? That was their message. bodypainted boobies (thus: naked with a layer of paint) and feather headdresses with which you can immortalize your visit to the most famous light box of our island. Only the mayor has banned them. Bare boobs are therefore not allowed. And that has caused quite a stir. Or better said, what boobs are waving.

SNEAKERS AND CEREAL

Kith NYC is known to always be the first to have the raddest new sneakers. Apparently the newest Jordan’s are going to be introduced soon with an entire light show. But that’s not what I wanted to share with you. This post is about the newest addition to the store: a cereal bar. a cereal bar Random combo? Absolutely. The New York Times, amongst a couple of others, are incredibly euphoric about this bar where some of the worlds greatest athletes (Andre Agassi for example) have come up with numerous different cereal combinations, served in mini shoe boxes.
