I should try a day without Instagram. Impossible. I won't admit that I'm addicted, but it certainly seems like it. My feed is mostly overflowing with food bloggers. I get inspiration for what I can cook that evening, where I must have lunch, how to make the best and tastiest smoothies and I see fun ideas for my own Instagram account. Yep, it's almost a full-time job and I take it all very seriously. You know I'm a fan of Jamie and Nigella, but there are also quite a few nice Dutch food Instagram accounts to follow. These are my favorites:
Lisa goes Vegan
Indeed, the name says it all. Lisa only eats vegan. Now, I don't necessarily find that a must, but I often eat vegetarian and sometimes I just have no inspiration except for a pumpkin soup, vegetable pie, or omelet. Then there's Lisa who photographs the most delicious dishes on a plate. There are always nice, long personal texts underneath so you are always updated on how she is doing.
Miljuschkaw
Big fan. Miljuschka I met during a press trip in Saint-Tropez with Danie and that was it. Our love for food is great, so the conversation topics are endless. Miljuschka doesn't want to know anything about a green smoothie. Well, she’s fine with that, but let her stick to roasting large pieces of meat or baking the most delicious WHITE CHOCOLATE OREO CHEESECAKE. Yep, that exists. She's also very sweet, funny, and pretty and an incredible source of inspiration in the kitchen.
Oatmeal
A couple that had oatmeal for breakfast on their first date. That was fun and left them wanting more. They have released a really nice cookbook together, but their Instagram is also full of delicious recipe ideas. Everything with oatmeal of course and incredibly tasty photographed.
Chickslovefood
You probably know their site. Two friends who come up with new recipes every day. I'm a big fan of the skinny six (with only 6 ingredients) and the 5 or less (recipes with five or fewer ingredients). You see photos of everything: their kids, boyfriends, house, super healthy snacks, or a greasy bite. Very honest, very real, and sometimes also funny.
Beginspiration
Taking really beautiful photos of food is difficult. For Ianna clearly not. So tastefully done and you can also see exactly what is on the plate. Also important. Ianna writes nice texts about how she feels, what’s on the agenda, or cool hotspots she has been to. Most of what’s in the picture is organic, fresh, healthy, but, gin tonics are still being drunk. That’s what I like. A look at her site, that makes you very happy too.
The Lion Kitchen
Sesanne I know and she is an absolute sweetheart and especially a real chef. She serves everything on the cutest antique plates, so it looks cozy right away. Easy Monday recipes, super healthy stuff, or The Lion Cheats, but all with fresh and preferably organic products. Nothing from a jar, I like that. Her texts are always informative, in English, but that’s because Sesanne wants to become very big. Worldwide. And preferably as a TV chef.
