THE FINAL OF HNTM IS NEAR

But what should May wear?!

In less than two weeks (less than two weeks, Less Than Two Weeks, LESS THAN TWO WEEKS) is the final of Holland’s Next Top Model and, you can feel it coming; I still don't have a dress.

Of course, there is some stuff in my closet, but ’some stuff’ just will not do. TV demands different clothing rules (it can be a bit more over the top than you would normally do, white and small patterns are forbidden and actually, everything makes you look fat) and besides, I had the perfect dress last year so there is quite a bit of pressure.

Now browsing on Net-A-Porter is one of my favorite pastimes (especially when a very long to-do list is staring at me from my desk), but the perfect outfit wasn't among them. I recently threw two dresses from 3.1 Phillip Lim into my cart, but I immediately sent them back. Well, Jet did that for me because I am dramatically bad at it.

After lying awake for two nights (and dark circles are not a beloved accessory for the final), I called Anouk van Griensven in my hope in desperate times. Anouk is the stylist of Ilse DeLange and Ilse is the best-dressed woman in the Netherlands. Anouk also made the most beautiful series (with Simone Dernee and Marjolein Mos) for Marie Claire, so Anouk knows where Abraham gets the mustard and where May-Britt gets her Gucci’s.

Now it’s not entirely in her hands. Anouk gives me some homework with what I would like. Well, I want legs, not too much fuss around the waist (because I sit in a chair so that makes me look fat), preferably no bare arms (almost no one pulls that off) and preferably not black. So, being obedient, I start lining up some dresses. While that other list of things-I-need-to-do is still waiting. So if you need a break, would you shop digitally with me?
