This hairstyle makes you the princess of the December month
HOE DE TOUW VLECHT
The rope braid is actually quite an ‘old school’ hairstyle, but now that it is embraced by Beyoncé and the Kardashians, you can safely say that it is just back in style. This was even confirmed by New York Fashion Week where plenty of models were sent down the runway with the look. At The Public School, the braid was tighter than tight, and the models from Donna Karan and Alice + Olivia were also getting into braiding and twisting. So. This is the hairstyle you must, want, and will wear in the coming time.
We're talking about a braid that is actually completely round. Like a rope. So no, not flat, but you can see it from all sides. Okay, and maybe it takes a bit of practice (I find a normal braid quite difficult on myself), but below you will see a step-by-step guide to help you on your way. You have 15 days to train those fingers so they can quickly twist a rope braid in your hair on the 24th and you will be the princess of Christmas Eve.
1. Divide your ponytail into three sections. Hold two in your left hand and one in your right hand.
2. Twist the section in your right hand around your finger to the right. Then you need to do a quick trick so that the other two sections are also in your right hand. And while you hold that twisted section very tightly, otherwise it will unravel again.
3. Then you bring the twisted section to your left hand. And then you grab the other sections again with your left hand. Got it? You repeat the previous step, but in reverse.
4. Of course, you twist the last section now too. Then you twist everything together in a braiding manner. You need to secure it very well with a hair tie, so the sections can't go anywhere. A bit of hairspray will also do wonders.
Okay, I get it, it all sounds a bit simpler than it actually is. Toni & Guy stylist Sarah will explain it to you in a video. Watch and learn. Then it should work.
