This way you have the coolest festival wedding
(for little)
The wedding season is so incredibly there and even I as unmarried (but incredibly happy in love) start to get in the mood for a love party. Especially because the latest trend in wedding land, the festival wedding, seems so incredibly cozy to me. And still affordable too. Away with waiters in starched white suits and trays with white, red, and gravy, this, dear people, is the party we are looking forward to.
The tent
It's done, done, done with those white catering tents. Today we order a colorful tipi. It might be a bit more expensive but a lot more fun (much more Instagrammable) and moreover, you don't need those boring bouquet arrangements to dress it all up a bit.
The location
Choose a large, untouched spot. Preferably by a bay or with natural shelter in the form of a hill. My dear friends Micke and Helena got married in Sweden and decorated part of the bay. Lights in the trees, vintage speakers in the branches, a campfire with a large bench on both sides and round tables with white, flowing tablecloths. It was perfect.
The seating
To stay with my Swedish friends for a moment, they had the cutest seating ever. They had all different pieces of wood sawed in half and put a name on each piece. So you went looking for your match with your little piece of wood, and that was your table mate. Costs nothing but there was so much love and attention in it.
The music
Of course, a festival-style wedding calls for real music. Away with that cover band and also away with that DJ who plays classics from the time when you were young. Hire a singer-songwriter in who plays suitable, intimate songs with his guitar. Or do like my Swedish friends did (yes, that was really a good party) and bring your favorite street artist. If he has a really good day, you have something unique at your party. I really hate stacked hors d'oeuvres at a wedding. Those platters with all those snacks that are no longer pure and primal and made hours in advance. At a festival wedding, you just put down large platters for everyone to share. Rustic bread with nice olive oil and the best salt. Maybe you start with an oyster for the necessary luxury, but in the end, everyone is very happy with delicious, rich salads, good pasta, nice bread, and of course the best wine. For dessert, you put down platters with.
The food
marshmallows that you all roast in the fire. Blankets.
Make sure to have plenty of blankets that you roll up nicely and drape on benches and lounge chairs. Create lots of little lounge corners so everyone can retreat comfortably with their glass and their favorite company.
Signs.
Also fun and very festival-like. Make directional signs from old wooden slices indicating where the restrooms are, where dinner is
etc. . Fun if you come up with a nice different word for that and. hand-paint it on the pieces of wood. this Tableware.
I once attended an exclusive Chanel show where Karl served high tea on a bric-
bracà-tableware. Not a single plate was the same, yet everything breathed the same atmosphere. The glasses were. alsoall different. That made it so real and makes it very easy for you. Make sure the flowers on the table are still just right. That you have to throw them away tomorrow, then they are at their most beautiful. Fire. Fire is essential. Make sure to have plenty of baskets and.
fireplace spots.
Create a path of open haard-plekken. Maak een pad van lanterns and hang (op safe spots) lanterns or small lights in the tree. Stars are a good idea when you're about to do your first dance. It easily invites people to the dance floor.
And then the dress
So I would marry in something mind-blowingly beautiful and then put on something cozy that feels good. And that can get dirty. Just enjoy dancing on your bare feet, sitting by the fire, in the pool or in the sea jumping.
Look, that sounds good to me.
