What do you bring in a cooler
to the beach or a park
Nice, that the sun is back a little bit. Just give me a few friends, a park, and I'll take care of a cooler full of goodies. I always try to go a bit all out, you know me. I'll share my favorites with you.
– Make sandwiches wrapped in aluminum foil. This keeps them the freshest and you can also use the foil as a plate right away.
Sandwich ideas:
Cream cheese with slices of cucumber. Add some pepper and salt.
Avocado and smoked chicken
Mackerel with a dab of mayo
– Bake (buckwheat) pancakes at home, they are also very tasty cold. You can sprinkle them with agave syrup or crumble some goat cheese on top when unpacking.
– The same goes for chicken legs, which you can easily prepare at home and might even taste better when cooled.
- Watermelon. Always a good idea.
– A boiled egg is very easy to transport and I always find it very tasty, just out of hand.
– A bottle of cold rosé, that seems logical to me.
Tip! Liesbeth and I have a great trick to get wine cold in no time: wrap toilet paper around the bottle. Then make the paper completely wet and put it in the freezer for 10 minutes. It will be icy cold then. If you take the bottle in the cooler: make sure to wrap it up well, that keeps it cold.
Then a roll of kitchen paper is always nice or wet wipes to clean your hands and keep everything in the fridge as long as possible before you toss it in the cooler.
