What do you wear in a spa
I really hope that when you read this, I am working my fourth job at the pool of Akasha, the most beautiful spa in Amsterdam. For half a year, their member card has been shining in my wallet, but I have never used it.
One reason is mmy agenda links and three attention-hungry children on the right, which is why I prefer to spend every free minute at home, another important reason is that I find it quite difficult, such a hip spaa. You should know that Akasha is located in the Conservatorium Hotel and I am a half habituée there. When I have breakfast/lunch or whatever there, I always see all kinds of VIP-like types walking into the spa. Mart Visser, Géza Weisz, Halina Reijn, that kind of thing.
There was the same lady from earlier. Naked
Because a spa with a swimming pool, sauna, and hammam does call for a special dress code. My mother once stayed in an overly fancy hotel somewhere in Indonesia. During her spa visit, she thought it might be inappropriate to dive into the sauna naked, but she did it anyway. It was a sauna after all. But in the warm cabin, she saw another woman, dressed in her swimsuit. My mother slipped out of the room to quickly put on her Eres swimsuit and hurried back into the sauna. There was the same lady from earlier. Naked.
It remains a thing. And I find it particularly uncomfortable to encounter people I know naked. Without makeup and with wet hair is already a small hurdle, but okay, I can handle that. Here comes my little style bible for spa visits.
Wear a swimsuit
That is just a bit more dressed than a bikini and therefore a tad more businesslike. Choose a nice swimsuit. You have very little at your disposal, so a good swimsuit is essential. Eres has beautiful swimsuits, but Missoni does too. I am very happy with my Marc by Marc Jacobs and my taupe-colored Tory Burch.
in a soft color and set the tip of your nail in a bright contrasting color.
You have little distraction, so the chance is high that someone lets their gaze wander along your feet. No bigger turn-off than such a calloused foot with fungal nails, so know what you have to do.
Hair up
Swimming is definitely more comfortable and more hygienic, but it also looks more polished. As I said: you have very little at your disposal.
Waterproof
Little makeup on and what you use should be waterproof please. Smashbox even has waterproof foundation. Ideal then
