WINTER WONDERLAND
At the moment you are reading this, I am on a plane to a sunny destination. You must be bursting with jealousy, but no worries; winter is also a lot of fun. You don’t have to enter winter with dry skin, chapped cheeks, and cracked lips. Even in the coming months, your skin can remain smooth and shiny. Well, here they come, five tips to postpone the winter blues until summer, so you actually never have to experience it.
cleansing
Since the weather in winter changes much faster than in summer due to snow, rain, hail, and cold, it is important to cleanse. your skin very well. All those weather influences affect your skin. If you don’t cleanse, dead skin cells will just accumulate, and dirt cannot be removed. The result is very dry skin with some pimples. You don’t want that.
Hydrating
Use richer creams in winter instead of the light ones you have on your bathroom shelf in summer. If you keep hydrating well, your skin won’t have the chance to develop a tired and dull complexion. You will maintain a healthy and fresh look. Just that alone helps you get through the winter blues.
oil
I just mentioned hydrating, and you can boost that a bit with the use of an oil. Now, I can imagine that this isn’t so nice during the day, because then you have a very greasy skin (though it does keep everything nice and warm). But at night, it can do some extra work. Essential oils penetrate to the deepest layer of the skin and help restore everything.
Fake it till you make it
I totally understand that you want to keep your summer tan for as long as possible. A tanning bed is just not the solution. It might give you a so-called vitamin boost, but it’s not healthy for the skin. It’s best to use a face mask every week, cleanse and scrub well, and apply a self-tanner . You will benefit much more from that, and it’s really better for your skin. Oh, and it looks a lot more natural.
Fridge ban
As soon as the sun is gone, you rush to the kitchen. I mean, a baggy sweater hides the fact that I’ve eaten a whole pack of cookies, I always think. In summer, there’s no escaping that. However, you can definitely see that pack of cookies on your skin. So even in winter, it’s best to eat healthy. So sweet potatoes, mangoes: there’s plenty of vitamin A in them that keeps your skin very happy and healthy.
Enjoy winter!
