5 BEAUTY MISTAKES YOU MAKE AT THE OFFICE

You would think that the bar is set pretty high here at the office when it comes to looks. You have a point. You are expected to click immediately when you receive an email from Net-A-Porter and crop tops with belly piercings are not necessarily required. But otherwise, quite a lot is allowed. I have also shown up at the office in sweatpants and I sometimes spot Jet with wet hair. But hey, we are just an extremely free office with a very relaxed and fun editor-in-chief. Generally speaking, there are some things where you can really miss the mark. So if you have a job interview coming up soon and it's not at our office? Read and learn.

Too much color

A healthy glow is nice, and if you've just spent six weeks in the Bahamas, it won't be held against you, but a spray tan that has turned out like an Oompa Loompa doesn't really work in your favor. It looks a bit too glamorous and is quite unprofessional. Want to do it right? Then opt for a light bronzer and not for a self-tan on your face. And; only apply it to spots that would also tan in the sun. It's not like your entire face turns an even brown.

Doe de wenkbrauw

We really understand that eyebrows are a huge trend. But if you were to show up at the office with bleached ones or the total black version, we would also chuckle a bit. Not everyone knows who Cara Delevingne is and not everyone keeps an eye on the catwalk. It's better to keep it a bit natural. Well-shaped and nicely done, because that gives a good expression to your face, but no fuss or other exaggerated intentions.

Fake eyelashes

Also such a thing. Eyelashes are fine, Bambi eyes are only good and clump-free lashes are of course also very nice. So if you have the right fake lashes, then there is really nothing wrong. But sometimes you see lashes that are extremely long, including the risk of losing them. Oh, and completely wrong: lashes with glitter at the ends or colored lashes. Just don't do that at the office, save that for the weekend.

Long nails

Too long nails remind us a lot of assistants from bad romcoms. They are typing so hard, but in between, they grab the nail file more often than the agenda. Such nails are not only very impractical, but they also don't come across as very hygienic. It's better to opt for slightly shorter nails in a lighter color. It looks very well-groomed and gives the impression that you are really a go-getter. Look, that's the impression you want to leave, right?

Wild hair

We understand that purple hair, gray hair, or dip-dye effects are the trend, but they actually don't belong to the classic office furniture. In creative professions, this is well understood (and considered very cool and confident), but in other workplaces, it is simply seen as weird. If you do have the color, wear your hair in a traditional way: in a bun or braid. Then you often get away with it.
