5 tips to show up at work tomorrow without a royal hangover
As you know, I live in the center of Utrecht. Next to De Dom, read here for a moment. If you live in the center of a big city at all, King's Day means celebration. A big celebration. With stalls, pubs, drinks, more drinks, and hangovers the next day.
Now I really plan to behave today, because on Thursday we all have to go to work ‘normally’, but hey, cutting back on fun? I don't do that. A little caution is fine. Therefore, 5 tips to show up at work tomorrow with a presentable face.
1. Starting early means finishing early
Do you still want to drink? Then you start early. That means you'll be done around 6 PM, and then you'll still be in bed early. It gives your body more time to recover from all those glasses of white.
2. Stay far away from all drinks with a bright color
You wanted to go to work tomorrow, didn't you? That disgusting Oranjebitter you can leave for what it is.
3. Don't indulge in greasy food in the evening
Here comes Jet to give me a stern talk. My favorite sandwich with cheese soufflé and peanut butter turns out to be not such a good idea. “Eat vegetables or a bowl of fruit when you get home. That other greasiness keeps the alcohol in your body much longer. And to stay in the orange mood: have a large glass of carrot/ginger juice. That's really the ultimate hangover cure.”
4. Yes, yes, water, we know
Simple: prevention is better than alleviating that hangover. So really have a glass of water after every alcoholic treat.
5. And just a note for the smokers among us…
Don't light one after another when you're tipsy. Because if there's anything that can make you feel really bad, it's smoked lungs the next morning. Speaking from experience here.
And by the way, you know what, it's going to be terrible weather today anyway, you can just stay home and have a Netflix day or these tips follow up. You'll look sharp at the office tomorrow.
