5 X running on the beach

Suppose you take your gym shoes with you on vacation (I do that anyway) and there is a beach nearby, then a jog on the beach is really a super good workout. Bye bye spaghetti carbonara and dame blanche. By the way, there are some rules attached to it. Or better said: tips, because running on the beach is no piece of cake. But it is killerbody- and killercondition-proof.

1. Run either very early or in the evening. Avoid the sun. With the sun on your head, it really gets way too hot and you can (especially without a cap) get a heat stroke. And besides, it might also be a bit quiet on the beach.

2. Apply sunscreen well. Whether the sun is there or not. Especially by and on the water, you can burn super quickly.

3. Don't set the bar too high, you don't have to be able to run five kilometers in a row right away. It's much harder on the beach than on a road. And if you want to limit your muscle pain a bit, I advise you to build up slowly.

4. Try to run on a flat piece of beach. Even if it's just a small piece, you can run back and forth five times. Avoid bumps and rocks. You don't want to get injured or twist your ankle on vacation, I think.

5. What is also fun is to leave your shoes in your hotel and go running barefoot. That gives a completely different feeling and is an even tougher workout. Challenge yourself. Then happily join the tapas.
