6 STYLE LESSONS YOU CAN LEARN FROM VICTORIA BECKHAM
If there is one wardrobe that can be parked in mine without a second thought, it is Victoria Beckham's. I like everything except her strapless dresses with the tied-up busts underneath. If David accidentally crawled into the suitcase as well, that is not an insurmountable problem. There is always a willing intern who wants to take care of him.
Until the moment we come up with a plan to make that wardrobe ours, we can learn this from Victoria.
1. A white blouse is the foundation
When in doubt, wear trousers that flow loosely around your slim hips and combine them with sleek heels and an oversized white shirt. Make sure the buttons don’t go any further than your chest to avoid looking frumpy. A tight ponytail, sunglasses, and an envelope bag complete your business look.
2. Oversized blazer for a business and sleek effect
Victoria's style can be described as sexy business. Due to her slender figure (and yes, she has to work for that too. She was once asked; If your life would be a movie, what would the title be? And she answered; The Hunger Games.) it never looks frumpy or cold. The key is the large blazers she wears as jackets. Preferably over the shoulders, but if they are really oversized, Victoria simply puts her arms through the sleeves. Silly.
3. Emphasis on the waist
Now you might say; I would do that too if I had Victoria's figure, but I don't entirely agree. Even if you weigh more than fifty kilos, you have a waist. By wearing a horizontal stripe or a wide belt around your waist, you enhance the hourglass effect. Especially if you wear a fitted pencil skirt underneath like Victoria.
4. Shoulders, shoulders, shoulders
Victoria stands for strength, and strength is best expressed by wearing strong shoulders. Victoria loves her blazers where the shoulder is just a little bit raised. It makes her look feminine, slim, and powerful.
5. It doesn't always have to be tight
Of course, you can picture Victoria in skinny jeans, twelve-centimeter Louboutins, and a blazer over her shoulders, but Victoria is also the woman of oversized sweaters that she wears over long, flowing skirts and ultra-wide dresses. Loose fits signify richness, and if you are as slim as she is, it never looks bulky.
6. A belt around it
Just like Olivia Palermo Victoria knows very well that a belt makes everything more fun. Around your fitted dress, around your blazer, and around your winter coat. A belt is always a particularly good idea.
