6 THINGS I FIND ANNOYING ABOUT WHATSAPP
At number one is that it is so incredibly addictive that I hardly need to speak to someone in person anymore because everything has already been discussed and shown via the app. It is also very nice, because sometimes it is more pleasant and generally much faster than calling. Those group chats can indeed be super annoying, but somehow it gives the feeling that I am much more in touch with my friends, for example. The same goes for my family. We are all extremely busy, but mini-messages about what is going on or a nice photo showing what someone is up to still make it feel like we are together for a moment. But still, WhatsApp also has a few very tiring features and quirks:
- When I want to write the word ‘sun’, my phone immediately changes it to ‘so'n’. And that is something completely different. Sigh.
- The same happens with the word ‘the’, which suddenly gets written in UPPERCASE. If I want that, I can do it myself.
- And what about ‘hoer’ instead of ‘hoor’. That can sometimes go quite wrong.
- And then those voice memos. They are handy for quickly recording a message, but why can't you listen to what you've said first and check if it sounded somewhat normal?
- Anyway, it happens quite often that I accidentally press that voice recording button and then it takes a moment before I can type again. A hundredth of a second, but still.
- And then, where is my little avocado? Or moving emoticons? Dancing figures, pounding hearts, and kissing kisses? Yes, I am looking forward to that.
