7 beauty mistakes we all make
When it comes to makeup, you never stop learning. There's a photo of me at my parents' house and every time I see it, I cringe at my beauty habits from back then. Over-plucked eyebrows and a completely wrong foundation color. You probably recognize it. Now I'm a few years older and I've really learned a lot (the photos are definitely looking much better for now), but there are always things you still need to pay attention to.
1. Clumps of mascara on your lashes
Of course, we all want those extremely big eyes. Seems like a logical story. Sometimes we are just a bit too hasty and enthusiastic with the mascara, resulting in a lot of clumps and everything sticking together, leaving you with only about five lashes. Take a little more time and just use the very best mascara, then you'll get that volume without the hassle.
2. Wrong foundation color
Story of my life. In the mirror, you’ve never looked so flawless, but once outside, you look like a ghost or an Oompa Loompa. Don’t test foundation on your hand, but test it on your jawline. That way, you can be sure you’ve got the right color.
3. Over-plucking your eyebrows
If you're still doing that now, then you haven't read this post well, but you were probably very enthusiastic about tweezing back in the day. I certainly was, and I'm still suffering the consequences. I threw that tweezers out the window and I'm incredibly enthusiastic about using eyebrow pencils and powders to get things looking a bit more modern. 4. Contouring in the wrong places, this and this I admit. It really is an art to get it all looking nice. Not all of us have the golden hands of.
Kim Kardashian's makeup artist.
Now it's just a matter of a lot, a lot of practice, so you use the perfect products and place the lines in the right spots. Concealer is something that really should be standard in everyone's bag, because it truly hides every hour of sleep deprivation. Just make sure you don't use too much. Often, we are so enthusiastic with the brush that it becomes a huge layer (because in your head, the dark circles are still visible), which only accentuates fine lines. You don't want that. Just three dots are enough.. With a highlighter and bronzer, you get a bit more.
5. Concealer crush
dimension in your face.
6. Glitter
It makes your skin glow a bit more and highlights the good points in your face. The only little thing is that we don't see it ourselves very well – which is logical if you're doing it in the bathroom – and therefore you keep powdering to get results. Just trust your own abilities, because before you know it, you step out the door looking like a walking disco ball. 7. Too much lip. You would think that your lips can never be big enough, thanks to Kylie Jenner, but a common mistake is that you apply lipstick so incredibly thickly that it’s everywhere. So not just under that lovely cupid's bow and your lower lip. Believe me. The Kylie Jenner lip is of course more than okay, but you don't want a clown mouth. Use a lip liner and stay within the lines, then it should go well.
