7 WAYS TO KEEP YOUR HAIR COLOR BEAUTIFUL IN SUMMER

Last year, I dyed my hair for the first time. About a month and a half before the vacation, I swapped my brunette look for blonde locks. And I was quite happy with it. Emphasis on ‘was’, because when I came back from vacation, the blonde was completely red and I looked more like Pippi Longstocking with dry, red hair and extreme freckles than Gisele Bündchen with blonde hair and a sunkissed skin. Time to gather some tips and tricks, because there's no way I'm letting this happen again.

Voorbereiden & primen

Protect your hair well from the heat. The heat can be really harsh and makes your hair less ‘fit’. As a result, it quickly becomes a bunch of straw that you wear on your head. For example, use leave-in conditioners with a factor, which keeps your hair hydrated for a long time and the sun warms it up like a kind of treatment. We often apply protection to our skin, but we don't do that for our hair. Silly, because it can burn just as easily. Where your skin turns red (and in my case, my hair too), your locks simply take on a completely different color. Protection is therefore quite nice.

Be careful with heat

Turn the hairdryer down a notch so that the heat doesn't damage your hair further. Not in terms of color and not in terms of quality.

Do the bun

You can protect your hair very well from the sun by simply wearing it in a bun (hello favorite hairstyle!).

”Trust me, it spices up your beach outfit (and it won't take much)”

The hat

A little Audrey Hepburn doesn't hurt at all. So invest a little in a few sexy hats, wear a scarf, or go for a cool cap. Trust me, it spices up your beach outfit (and it won't take much), and you optimally protect your color.

Touch your hair as often as possible

Normally, you shouldn't touch your hair that often, but when you're in the sun, do it just the opposite. Time for a change. If you change your hair a bit, it keeps your color longer and you won't get dryness in one spot so quickly. So bun up, bun down, braid in, braid out. There has never been such a good reason to frequently change hairstyles.

Rinse your hair well

Rinse your hair after swimming in the sea. A beachy look is of course fantastic, but that salt really dries out your hair and your color.

Olaplex

Olaplex is a treatment you can get at the salon to make your hair color look its absolute best. It restores the hair from the color treatment and ensures that you get super healthy locks that you can keep for a while and that also, in combination with the previous tips, provide good protection.
