ARE YOU COMING TO CLASS WITH ME?

(With drinks and bites!)

People can go on for hours about art, football, and red wine, and no one finds that strange, remarkable, or superficial. But when you talk about fashion, well, then the house is often too small.

I would love to share what Coco Chanel meant for the emancipation of women. Or what about Yves Saint Laurent who ‘gave’ us a tuxedo? And shoulders? And how well Christian Dior captured the post-war female image in his new look? Feminine, waist, hips, and lots of fabric. The lean war years were over, now it was time to build (and give birth) to a new future.

Clothing is the instrument to tell who you are. I understand those people with tattoos. They tell which tribe you belong to, even when you're standing in your birthday suit.

Because not everyone has a tattoo and it might be a bit cold and odd in a naked state, we have clothing, and we choose it in such a way that our ‘look’ matches who we are. At least, if you pay a little attention.

I love to talk about how important it is to have a signature look, because I dare to say that every colorful and successful person has one. From Matthijs van Nieuwkerk to Maarten van Rossem. And I enjoy helping you think about what your signature look could be and putting it together with you.

That's why I reserved a space in the trendy hotel The Hoxton, with tasty bites and drinks. And of course, you won't leave without a goodie bag.

When: next week Thursday evening, September 1st at The Hoxton. Free of charge. Just because it's fun.
