Happy & Healthy

“Jet, where should I have lunch? I'm looking for a nice and healthy spot.” When I get that question, I pretend I know all of that by heart, but actually, I just pull out my notes on my iPhone where I keep my own black book. And now I'm sharing that with you. Here it comes: super healthy lunch spots in Amsterdam, my city.

Pick

In one of those lovely 9 Streets. The counter is filled with muffins, cake, and pie, and the sweetest girls are serving. At Pluk you can have lunch or take food to go, but it also has a really cute shop with dishes and gifts.

The Meets

Superrrr healthy. Even the desserts are made from avocado and beet. I'm a big fan of the kale salad. This little place is right in the Pijp, another nice neighborhood. They also have a glass of wine anda beer on the menu, but that keeps me in a certain vibe, so I order a ginger tea instead.

Lavinia Good Food

I usually choose something from the display, as it looks divine. They cook a lot from Ottolenghi's book, which says enough, I think. In this little restaurant, you can only have lunch and it’s a bit hidden in Kerkstraat. You could easily walk past it, but don’t do that. Everything is just as delicious and healthy. Their house tea (I'm quite a tea lover) is my standard first order.

The Cold Pressed Juicery

May-Britt and I are regulars here and we don’t even need to order anymore, because it’s always the same: “A Large Power Breaky and a Large Green Protein.” But for lunch, they also have incredibly good raw wraps with lots of vegetables, pesto, and hummus. When the sun is shining, there’s a nice bench by the door, and otherwise, you can always take your lunch to Vondelpark. Just ten steps away.

Fulfilled

Soup with balls (can also be without, you know) can be ordered here, along with a very tasty salad. Everything comes straight from the kitchen. You can also easily take it to go and eat it at home.

Beter & Leuk

Super duper healthy and for those who eat gluten-free, also a very attractive menu. You can also easily bring your computer to work a bit. The oven-baked eggs are my favorite. This lunch spot is in Amsterdam-East, and let’s say you don’t live in the city, this is also a very nice neighborhood to explore, because East is becoming trendy.

YAY Health Store & More

Not long opened in the Pijp. You could also call it a health center. You can take a yoga class, there’s a shop, you can have a bite to eat, and you can also attend healthy workshops. A lot of raw food comes from the kitchen. If that’s not healthy?
