Happy & Healthy
how many calories your snack contains
Hip hip hooray, it’s almost Friday. And that means snack time. While chatting with your girlfriend, the plate of bitterballen comes by. But that bread basket (including aioli) also catches your eye. (Curious about more of these tasty bites? Jet tips you here.)
But what do we put in our mouths during that cozy pre-weekend drink?
CAUTION. Reading further is at your own risk. And uh, don’t shoot the messenger…
One (yes: one) bitterbal dipped in mustard: 70 kcal
That bread basket with aioli (two slices): 187 kcal
A portion of nachos with cheese: 346 kcal
Three cheese sticks: 120 kcal
A puff pastry snack: 290 kcal
So in fifteen minutes we easily consume about 300 calories? And then we’re only one drink and a mouthful in. Ai! My scale is definitely not going to be happy about that.
Healthy alternatives? I won’t touch your glass of wine, as I will never get to that, but those snacks can be more responsible.
– A portion of roasted chickpeas: 125 kcal. The snack nut, but then the healthy version.
– Grilled Padron peppers (Mays fav): 75 kcal. Super green, but too delicious.
– Spring rolls (the steamed version) with soy sauce: 65 kcal. This is the healthy version of the fried spring roll.
– Well… And that plate of oysters, huh…. Four pieces including vinaigrette: 60 kcal. Super classy and also good for our hair.
This is how you carefree and snacking enter your weekend, without having to give up your glass of white. Look, that makes us ladies happy.
