THE WEDDING HAIR DIARIES
#1 Italian Classic
The road to the wedding is quite a journey. An enchanting dress, that nicely fitting and oh so cool mule underneath, a beauty look that leaves nothing to chance and decorations that make Miss Kim K.'s wedding look sad in comparison. This also calls for a bridal hairstyle that perfectly complements everything. So no frumpy hairstyle with curls that have had a Roy Donders treatment and preferably no rose hairpins and glitter spray either. At The Building, you are at the right place. They give every bridal look a Olivia Palermo-swing and that way you can be sure that in twenty years the photos will at least not be a joke.
In the next four weeks, we will prepare you completely for the bridal season. Four amazing looks for future brides and four looks for the important guest, so you can give the dress code even more allure. We start with an Italian wedding. Beautiful Kelly is going to marry in the lovely Puglia . Think fresh white linen, the tastiest olives, liters of good wine, and the most beautiful company. Believe me, I have already had the pleasure of admiring the dress and it was truly even more beautiful than all the houses in Puglia combined. Extremely beautiful, indeed. Youri from The Building has created a look that combines the classic elements of Puglia with the romance of the day and added a touch of sexiness. How do you create that look? I'll tell you, he will show you, and just wait, you will soon be eager to see the bride.
Step 1 – Prepping
As a bride, you want your hair to stay in perfect shape all day long. No hassle with sagging, no fuss about putting pins back in place, you just want to not have to worry about anything. So prep your hair the right way. Make the hair a bit stiffer with a salt spray and blow-dry the product well to activate it.
Step 2 – Curls
With a curling iron, you create curls and secure them in curls. Curls are a kind of rollers. Let this all cool down very well. Take your time for the cooling, because the longer they stay in, the better the curls will hold throughout the day. Finally, you fix everything with hairspray.
Step 3 – Unraveling
When you take out the curls, they will all be perfect strands. And since you don't want to marry with an Annie head, you really need to shake everything out well.
Step 4 – Updo
Now the real work begins. Start with a small ponytail in the hair and twist it into a sort of bun. Attach the top part of the hair to that and then secure everything with bobby pins. Of course, you place that very nicely so that you don't see the pins. That is really a no-go.
Step 5 – The fringe
The fringe is a very important item in the face. It is a make point or a break point. How the fringe falls along your face or is styled away from your face can make a big difference between a sleek, soft, or frumpy appearance. So pay close attention to the look, the dress, and the shape of the face before making a choice. But a good hair stylist knows that better than anyone.
