DETOXING FOR LAZY PEOPLE
Enough people around me have started the year with a detox and are now heavily into the juices to summon the skinny bitch within themselves. the skinny bitch Hell no, I'm not participating in that. Of course, I want the same result, but I know myself pretty well by now. After a few hopeless attempts to join in on all these kinds of things – read: thinking about chocolate all day while you can't put a morsel in your mouth AND walking around with a growling stomach – I just know it's not for me. But hey, there is a solution. Detoxing the lazy way, but still with the benefits of good skin AND maybe even a kilo less.
1. Skip the coffee
It's of course a huge cliché, but caffeine it only works for a little while. And besides, too much coffee isn't very healthy for you either. You'd be better off drinking green tea, as it's full of antioxidants and will cleanse the body from the inside out. You can obviously see that reflected in your skin as well.
2. Supplements
Sounds incredibly exciting to many people, but it's not so crazy to take some kickstarters after a few too many cocktails. It neutralizes what the alcohol has done, and supplements also boost your natural defense barrier. We should tell you that they certainly won't suddenly negate the bottle of wine. You do have to cut back on alcohol a bit to actually see the benefits of the supplements.
3. Go to the spa
Seems like no punishment to me. The spa always sounds like a huge relaxing outing, and it is, because it does a lot of good for your body. A deep, good massage stimulates blood circulation, which is good for body and mind, and a salt bath helps reduce swelling. A puffy face becomes much less puffy. For good skin, you just need to lie down.
4. Mask
Clay masks and mud masks are the best. Ancient – you probably remember them from back in the day – but they simply wipe away stress and are also great for faking a good night's sleep.
5. Cleansing
Last but certainly not least. Cleansing is just a standard story, but it's the foundation of good skin. Cleaning your skin ensures that all remnants of makeup and other stuff are wiped away, allowing the skin to breathe again. Quite important. Because breathing gives that fresh glow and especially contributes to a flawless look. Do it well, and you won't need any foundation afterward.
