Fashion dilemma of the week

ON THE BIKE TO A PARTY

Your eyelashes are coated with an extra layer of mascara, your hair curls perfectly, and we haven't even talked about your new skirt yet. You are ready to toast, dance, and have a lot of fun. And if you plan to toast, of course, you hop on your bicycle.

Wrap top €497,- Johanna Ortiz, Box bag €4.800,- Céline, Metallic loafers €29,99 Asos, Sunglasses €39,99 H&M, Ankle jeans €49,99 H&M

Comfortable, not too short AND perfect for a party

And there's the problem: damn, you're getting on your bike! Let's talk about that skirt for a moment. Because no matter how great you rock it, as soon as you get into biking position, it crawls under your armpits in no time. Don't feel like biking in your underwear over the canals? I get it. That's why I've gathered the cutest party outfits for you that will help you tackle that bike ride with ease.

Skirt pants €10,- Topshop, T-shirt €12,95 Zara, Headband €19,99 H&M, Ankle boots €169,95 Nubikk via Omoda, Clutch €670,- Gucci

Loose fit

Now I hear you thinking: if such a mini skirt isn't practical, I'll just go for my flowy maxi skirt? And of course, I don't want to ruin the fun, but that's not really a practical thought. A lot of fabric and a loose fit are anything but handy on a bike. Think of spokes, pedals, or a chain with grease. Believe me, so much fabric and a bike do not go well together. So if you're in the mood for a dress or skirt? Go for a midi length or cheat a little with a skirt pant.

Choose your fabric

Natural fabrics like linen wrinkle like crazy, and walking in totally wrinkled after your bike ride is anything but nice. Go for airy, flowing fabrics or sturdy materials like denim or leather. Also avoid sweaty fabrics, because the imprint of your saddle upon entering is not great either.
