FOOD THAT YOU CAN EASILY TAKE WITH YOU

Sometimes you have those incredibly busy days when a bit of good lunch can slip by or you end up at an appointment with such a dirty canteen where you can't find anything tasty (and/or healthy) at all. Those days are annoying because being hungry makes you grumpy, you can't concentrate well anymore and when you get home, you can assume that you'll completely empty the cupboard with candy, cookies, and chocolate. So: if you have a busy day, are on the go a lot, and don't know exactly where and when you're going to have lunch, then take something with you in your bag. Like this:

  • Make sandwiches wrapped in aluminum foil. Just make them from bread and not from crackers or rice cakes, because those get very soggy after being stored for a long time. Do choose something that stays fresh for a while. Think of cheese with cucumber, smoked chicken with tomato, mackerel, or peanut butter. Just to name a few.
  • Bake (buckwheat) pancakes at home, as they are also very tasty cold. You can sprinkle them with agave syrup when unpacking or maybe crumble a bit of goat cheese on top.
  • Bake a savory cake at the beginning of the week, like nut bread or banana bread. Slice it, freeze it, and toss a slice in your bag before you go.
  • Work with Tupperware containers. Pour in a generous splash of yogurt and cut up pieces of fruit. Take granola separately and only add it to the yogurt when you start eating.
  • Make wraps. Roll them up, cut them into pieces, and wrap them in aluminum foil.
  • A boiled egg is very easy to transport and it's very nutritious too. I always find it very nice to just eat such an egg out of hand.
