HOW DO YOU SCORE THAT DESIGNER STUFF REALLY WELL IN THE SALE?

Girlfriends, do a little dance, because the moment we've all been waiting for is here: SALE. And I'm not talking about discounts of lick-me-designer-jacket, we're talking about the freaking good stuff. Starting at 30 percent and going up to 70 percent (= practically giving away = lying on the ground drooling) if you're lucky.

The sweet tooth among us knows exactly how that sale works. Just imagine you're sitting in a restaurant, then saving room for dessert is also of vital importance, right? That's how it is in December too. A month that is so damn expensive, but where the strategist still leaves budget space for dessert. In the form of a Mulberry Moorkop, a Proenza Panna Cotta, or a Balenciaga Bavarois. Okay, without joking, do you want to score those jackpot prices for a little? Then this is what you're going to do.

Tip 1: you wait...

You see a super cool bag that is going for 30 percent off and you want to pounce like a murderous piranha. Right away, I get it. But the art is not to buy right away at 30 percent off where the sale starts, but to wait until half off. The sale on the sale, that's what we're going for.

“Enough potential it-bags shouting your name, trust me.”

Tip 2: these are your three new online girlfriends.

1: theoutnet.com (tip: come here especially on Mon, Tue, and Thu, because then the selection is the largest as all stash has just been restocked)

2: mytheresa.com (those Saint Laurent bags... Sigh...)

3: net-a-porter.com (or Net-A-Poryay, needs no further explanation)

Tip 3: know the brands that participate

Prior knowledge helps with everything in life. Lanvin often has discounts of 70 percent, while Mulberry usually goes up to a maximum of 30 percent. Oh and, where can you find the best designer items during the sale if you prefer real-life shopping? Exactly: de Bijenkorf. Lanvin, Givenchy, Marc by Marc Jacobs, Chloé, Balenciaga, Mulberry... SO MUCH SALE. But here too, tip 1 applies: wait. It has happened before that items with 90% went on sale. No, this is not a joke.

Tip 4: look outside the Randstad

It's actually quite simple. In the big cities, a lot of designer stuff is sold, and thus many people come to the Randstad to shop. Therefore, popular items sell out faster. Want a better chance of success? Go to Maastricht, Arnhem, Zwolle, Lutjekut; somewhere with fewer people and thus more chance of success.

Tip 5: still not succeeded in the sale?

Think about the outlets, because there it's practically always sale. It might take a bit more searching for the real gems, but they are definitely there. And Maasmechelen Village in Belgium is really not that far over the border. Or what about Batavia Stad Fashion Outlet? Or Designer Outlet Roermond? Enough potential it-bags shouting your name, trust me.
