JOB INTERVIEW, MOTHER-IN-LAW MEETING OR FIRST DATE?
Then this nail polish color is the best choice
Important meeting Do you have an important meeting tomorrow or a fun party planned? You can get really stressed about your look – quite essential during, for example, a job interview or first date -, but your nails might be your most important accessory. But which color should we choose from your beauty stash? I asked Suzi Weiss, founder of OPI nail polish and therefore the one who really knows how you can survive these kinds of exciting things. You must wear this color and with this color, you will feel the most comfortable in your spot.
9 to 5 work look
“There is no taboo nowadays. You can really do anything. I attend meetings in quite a few places, I know some people from the business world, and I see that there is really a lot of variety. I even see CEOs wearing blue and green on their nails. The idea that you have to go through life with a chalk stripe and your nails must have a French Manicure is really a thing of the past. You can show a bit.”
Job interview
“During a job interview, don’t make your nails the topic of conversation. You don’t want that, because YOU should really be the topic. That doesn’t mean the color has to be boring. Downgrade your nails, but make sure they look well-groomed. A pastel color offers a solution. Got the job? Then you can really go all out. Then you can really let loose.”
First date
“Unlike your job interview, you really need to make your nails a conversation piece here. Don’t hold back. Men really know that nails are important and ‘unconsciously’ they look if your nails are well-groomed and they also really look at the color. It’s also nice if you go all out with your nails, because then you at least have something to talk about if the date goes horribly wrong.”
The first meeting with your mother-in-law
“I think the color depends on whether you like her or not, but well, if you’ve never met her, then you obviously don’t know that. I think you should go for a natural color. Don’t shock her the first time. Especially not if your boyfriend already says she’s a difficult woman. A pastel color on the nails works very well and looks well-groomed and neat. Exactly the impression you want to leave the first time.”
Party till late look
“I always thought red was very glamorous and super Hollywood. It is of course, and we have launched a lot of red colors because they are very timeless. But nowadays I think dark colors are also very on-trend. ‘Lincoln Park After Dark’ for example. A very exciting color and when we launched it, it was quite a revolution. ‘Lady in Black’ is also a color that really suits everyone. Dark colors are very cool and very chic. They also look really nice on short nails.”
