JOSSELIN WOULD LIKE TO BE TAYLOR'S HAIRDRESSER

Because then you always have amazing hair

During our trip to Australia and Africa, we spent quite a few hours in the car, and then you pop in a CD to fill those endless silences sometimes. A CD, yes, because rental cars often don't have a modern charging point to plug in your phone. And we only had one CD with us, and it was from Taylor Swift. We played it so incredibly often on repeat that I can sing along from back to front, can literally recite the words, and can now really call myself a huge fan. Not only because she can sing great songs, but also because she totally intrigues me in terms of looks.

“She was really a girl-girl and I, as a tough roughneck, just couldn't relate to that very well”

Because her look, people, her look I find phenomenal. Looking back about ten years – so 2006 – I wasn't that impressed. Back then she was a kind of wannabe pop idol with long blonde hair and bangs. I thought she was a doll, without any edge, a Barbie just like many others. Or actually, it just seemed like she had walked out of a fairy tale. Very pretty, but also just very dull. She was really a girl-girl and I, as a tough roughneck, just couldn't relate to that very well.

Until the scissors came in. Two years ago. I remember it well. My goodness, I thought that was quite cool. She went from long straight hair, occasionally styled with a curling iron, to a sleek bob with bangs. Very sexy, very cool. And she had long shaken off the label ‘wannabe’, she had really made it by then. Wow, at least there was someone standing there. And that sleek bob gradually became a bit looser, a salt spray was thrown in, and Taylor's cool beach look was born. And because she isn't afraid of a little change here and there, she has already tried quite a bit, staying true to her bob. And I followed. Taylor bangs? I bangs. Taylor beachy? I beachy. She has a curl? I have a curl. But now the point is: she has totally bleached hair these days. Looks cool on her, but I'm really in doubt. Should I follow her or do our looks part ways here? Taylor, can you call me to discuss? Then I know what other shock awaits me.
