Amayzine

Fun & Famous

LET THE COUNTDOWN BEGIN!

A house party (totally the new thing with O&N), dear friends, apple fritters, secretly also some Linda de Mol, a jacuzzi, champagne bottles with flamingos (I shit you not) and some freshly made sushi. Let's kick in the new year, people, ‘cause I’m ready! And with a new year, of course, comes a little looking back. What were our totally Amayzine crème de la crème moments from 2016? I asked your editors before they eagerly indulged in the bubbles. Because you know: what happens in 2016, stays in 2016…

Simone: “Oh, can there be multiple highlights? First of all, of course, my new job here. Moving from Maastricht to Amsterdam for this job was quite tough, but I felt at home in the office right away. Is it weird with the most fun colleagues? Duh. Okay, enough flattery. Second highlight: that after two months working at Amayzine I was already chatting two centimeters away with Doutzen, was also quite a thing.”

May-Britt: “I thought: what can happen to me and lifted my hand in high five position. The next moment Gigi tapped him and a week later we took a ussie together. Most normal thing in the world. That can all happen during the delightful spectacle called Fashion Week.”

Lilian: “This year Amayzine brought me so much beauty: I got to admire my styling on television and in magazines. Daily the best shoppings made online and celebrated my very first Fashion week party: behind a barrier at Burberry to backstage among the dancing bananas at Charlotte Olympia. You can't make me happier. So.. My highlight? May-Britt who crowned me as Shopping Editor this year.”

Elke: “My 2016 Amayzine moment was when I stepped onto the plane with May heading to New York. Five days on the go for Fashion Week, sneaking into shows, interviewing Gigi Hadid, being heavily ignored by Anna Wintour and forever heartbroken because David Beckham stood behind me for a while and I didn’t notice anything.”

Kiki: “Shall I top it off then? My 2016 was workwise one big highlight I felt (that sounds nasty), but I found my birthday trip with Icelandair really the shit. First to Iceland, have your B-day dinner there, then fly business class to Chicago and then celebrate your birthday again, because you fly back in time. Bottom line: 30 hours birthday. Totally a party. Oh AND I almost forgot, but my weekly Expedition Robinson chatter which made me now both buddies with Bertie and invited to the recordings of the finale of the show. Quite #proud #blessed #enmoreofthatsortofsimilarhashtags.”

So, 2017, bring it on. We probably won’t like you as much tomorrow morning, but it seems that Simone still has a few gooooooood hangover breakfast ideas up her sleeve. I uh, already reach for that delivery button.

Have fun tonight, dear Amayzers, and see you in shiny 2017!
