LONDON DIARY

Day 3

Back at the office. And an incredible amount needs to happen to catch up on three days of work, because I really couldn't calmly answer my emails or think about what I'm going to write about for the rest of the week in between. Although this back-at-the-office moment does feel like a moment of peace. On our last day in London, Lil and I actually ran three marathons in a row to get everything done. From show to appointment to flight. Let me take you through our last day. Running and hurrying, to stay in the mood.

We had an appointment at half past 10 at the Jo Malone flagship store on Regent Street. That sounds like a super relaxed morning. It was in principle, until we had to pack our bags (nothing bought, but still heavy problems getting that suitcase closed), check out, and all the metros were delayed. In the end, we ran to make it, because at Jo Malone we would surely find our moment of relaxation. True. We started there with a hand massage, with scents that are only available at Regent Street. Then we dove into the art-of-giving-room, which is a room full of ribbons, stamps, the most beautiful packaging boxes, and letters to engrave. I don't know what I saw. Jo Malone was already my favorite, but now it has risen even higher in rank. I didn't even know that was possible.

Smelling good, we ran out the door. Sorry, we RAN out the door. We had to hurry for an appointment in Shoreditch. Now that's not a disaster, because after that appointment we were immediately in the right neighborhood. We made a shopping route past the best concept stores in London, hoping we wouldn't come across anything NICE because it wouldn't fit in our suitcase anymore, and filmed the places you need to be. Then you can take your time to check it out, because we have already vetted the best addresses for you.

And then. Then the panic actually started. We had one hour left in London and we hadn't eaten a scone yet. We didn't have many chances to hold a real taste test, so the place we would choose had to be amazing. So we dived into a place that was actually really nice and had the best scone ever. Kaluda in Shoreditch; go there! We fell in love with the scone, enjoyed an English tea, and lost track of time. Yes, that's how it goes in London coffee shops apparently.

Because of that time, we had to hurry incredibly. Hurry to put something in the suitcase, hurry to the metro, run to the train, then we were frustrated because the train was delayed by three quarters of an hour, held up at customs... Well, you read it: it's really all hassle. And I'm going to elaborate on the airplane story for you, because it's, just like my new favorite word and summary of London, hysterical.

All good. We're home. With a hundred hours of film, zero point zero souvenirs in the suitcase, a memory of the best scone ever, and the most amazing Fashion Week ever. And we'll definitely keep you updated on that for a few more days. If not longer.
