MOVIES HE DOESN'T WANT TO SEE BUT YOU DO
Because it's NOT DOABLE outside in terms of temperature (unless you have such a teddy coat ), it's time to plan your date nights with your boy at home. Cozy together on the couch, opening a bottle of wine, snacks on the side… But then comes the big dilemma: what the hell do you watch? To avoid arguments, I recommend not presenting the list below if you hope for some romance after the movie. Because here, ladies, this will NOT make him happy.
1. Everything by Nicholas Sparks
I mention The Notebook, Dear John, Safe Haven, The Longest Ride, The Best of Me… Nicholas gave me unrealistic expectations of love (sigh), but I keep watching it. Does your boy enjoy this? Well, no. If so, where did you find him? Then I know where to look.
2. Me Before You
This is Simone's favorite book and it has now been adapted into a movie. What do you need? Popcorn and tissues. And of course, preferably a friend who holds you tight. But whether they enjoy that… Okay, okay, then just that snuggie to keep you warm.
3. A Fault In Our Stars
Here too: don't forget your tissues. And just put it on when your boyfriend is out the door. He'll prefer that.
4. Footloose (and then the 2011 version)
Once I said that there is nothing guilty about pleasure. But this one really is on the list of guilty pleasures. The original is fine too, but my #girlcrush Julianne Hough is in this one and Kenny Wormald is also someone to fall in love with. You also want to live in a village in the middle of nowhere in America where dancing is forbidden.
5. Bridesmaids
Because men find this a cheap knockoff of The Hangover films.
6. Moulin Rouge
May's love finds it a punishment to watch this. But sigh. That scene where they sing together on that big elephant. Where is that emoji with heart eyes when you need it?!
7. Sex and the City I & II
I had just broken up with my first love when my BF took me to the cinema to see the first movie. The theater was packed. A chicken coop. With one rooster in between who, I think, broke up with his girl right after the movie. Men hate this, so girls, keep this one for your girls nights.
You can skip this list of film classics from Adeline if you have a movie night with a guy. But on one condition: that he also doesn't expect you to watch football with him.
