PIMP YOUR CHRISTMAS TREE

The travel edition

Yes yes, I know. That whole ‘there must be a star on your tree’ is sacred at Christmas and you shouldn't kick against sacred cows. Strangely enough, I still have an obsessive urge to always want to kick traditions in the face and that's why I'm going to tell you how to decorate the Coolest. Most Original. Christmas Tree. Ever. I thought it would be fun to surprise the editorial team with a crazy pine friend. Fuck off with your Christmas sock, it's time to spice things up a bit.

I invited my friends from Bol.com for a decorating party and stylist Gaby Fecken had a cool idea for a totally Amayzine Christmas tree. So behold: our travel tree. With a bunch of travel-hungry editors, there couldn't be a better theme. Because that's the new thing, in case you didn't know. A themed Christmas tree. The crazier, the better. Think of it as a Life of Pie cake, but in the shape of a tree. We just collectively named her Dennie.

Want to make your own Dennie travel tree? You need:

– A few passport holders

– A mini world map

– A suitcase ribbon

– A few ornaments (not too many, it has to remain a travel tree)

– A suitcase scale

– We still have a homemade popcorn garland (because it looked cool)

– Hey, do something crazy, hang a watch with a map in it

– Mugs from your favorite cities (we have New York, London, and Paris hanging in the little tree)

– Mini travel diaries. So cute

– A travel pillow for the plane

– Those transparent bags for your liquids + other cute refillable travel bottles

– Also cool: we have a swimming cap instead of a star

– And further: ALL THE STUFF YOU CAN FIND THAT HAS TO DO WITH TRAVELING AND CAN BE ATTACHED TO A TREE. It's so easy, people. With extra thanks to Bol.com. And to Gaby of course.

P.S.: and the fun thing about a themed tree is... You can't think of anything too crazy that it can't be done. A Frozen tree. A munching Dennie with only cookies, candies, donuts: you name it. An animal tree. For the healthy fans (are you listening, Simoon?) a vegetable tree with zucchinis, avocados, and plastic peppers. Oh Dennie tree (or is Danny cooler?), it's going to be a party together this coming month. Don’t you leave us in January.
