Yes yes, make-up will just increase your salary

I always find studies really interesting. So if another study about make-up or beauty pops up in my inbox or circulates on the big internet, I’m more than happy to stick my nose in it. Because what turns out: if we would spend a little longer in front of the mirror in the morning, we would also be a lot more successful actually: then the paychecks will really start ringing.

A study by Jaclyn Wong and Andrew Penner, two sociologists, shows that ‘attractive’ people earn 20 percent more than a woman who spends a little less time in front of the mirror. So if your husband has something to complain about in the morning that you’re spending a bit longer putting on make-up or keeping the the bathroom occupied; there’s a good reason for it. And they shouldn’t complain either, because the same study shows that for men appearance hardly has any influence. So it’s a matter of choosing or sharing. Waking up a quarter of an hour earlier to put some curlers in your hair and apply a nice bit of make-up does wonders.

Now I’m going to tell you how you can achieve such a powerful impressive look. Because you really don’t have to be totally under construction, a touch of power is enough.

The red lip

Seems like a clear story that with a red lip you make a huge impression. You don’t have to be a huge make-up queen to conjure up a red lip, and if you’re a bit nervous about entering a salary negotiation, a red lip works in your favor. You come across as strong and nothing stands in your way.

The wing thing

Just practice, because with a shaky or uneven eyeliner line you’re not going to make an impression. But the longer, tighter, and straighter the wing, the more confidence you radiate.

Nails

So I have a tic that I can look at nails during a conversation. If they’re too long, I actually find that just scary and unattractive. So you need to find some sort of middle ground. How you file them is up to you, but the key is to keep them neatly polished. That really makes the difference.

Eyelashes

Sounds crazy, but eyelashes do a lot for the size of your eyes. You come across as more confident, and without clumps or mascara that has run under your eye, a negotiation conversation should go well. So take some time for the right mascara techniques, because with that you radiate perfection.
