THE MARKETPLACE RULES OF JET
In the last few weeks, I have put a ton of stuff on Marktplaats, as you may have read. here Two households in one house is too much, so we made a selection. Luckily, I took the lead here, but he actually found everything okay too. That's nice working together., A lot has been sold, other things are still available for a nice price, almost yours. I also found.
an amazing stove from Smeg with two (!) ovens for an incredibly good price. In fact, that thing was already reserved, but I fell in love immediately, so I sent a very pleading email (“I love cooking so much, I’m even working on a book and cooking is my passion and my life, love at first sight”) and offered 25 euros more. Then I was allowed to come pick it up. Yes! I have become quite handy at it, if I may say so. The texts need to be catchy, and with certain phrases, you increase your chances of a quick sale, but also when you buy something, you need to pay attention to a few things to make it go as smoothly as possible. I’ll give you the Marktplaats tips & tricks because seriously, you can make a lot of money here and find incredibly fun stuff.
When you sell something.
– Always mention in the description: ‘pick up today, special price.’
– Make it personal, tell why you are getting rid of something. Write something nice about the device. ‘This washing machine has done excellently, small washes, big washes.’ Or: ‘I have warmed up the best ready-made meals in this, but it’s really time to grow up a bit, so I’m selling this microwave.’.
– If you want, you can offer to help carry. Mention that too. People find that attractive.‘
– Same as: ‘The coffee is ready!’ It helped me tremendously. And not having to make a single cup of coffee, how do you like that?.
– Always make sure to look out the window first to see who is at your door. Is it actually a creep? Don’t open the door.
– If you are selling something very large, you should always check if the money is real. For example, I sold my scooter and then received a considerable stack of cash. I asked the gentleman to walk with me to the ING so I could immediately deposit the bills into my account. Then you can see if it’s real or fake money. It may sound exaggerated, but my brother-in-law recently had 800 euros in bills at the bank after he said goodbye to that guy. It was completely fake. So, very important when it comes to a lot of money.
– If you don’t feel like carrying, mention that the buyer must bring someone to help carry the dryer downstairs. I think this is definitely a man’s job.
– Are you sending something? The buyer must first transfer the money, then it can go in the mail.
– Bumping it up helps. That means your ad will appear at the top of the page again.
– Don’t lower the price too quickly if you’re impatient, because not everyone has responded yet. Be patient, they will come, and otherwise, that person will make a counteroffer.
– Take good daylight photos. It should look flashy what you are selling.
– Lastly in your description: ‘You can email me, I will respond quickly.’ That helps!.
When you buy something:
– Always bring someone with you. It’s safer and maybe the other person will ask some good questions about the device.
– ALWAYS offer lower, even if you think it’s already a good price. You can get a yes after a no.
– Always test what you buy. Sit on it, walk around it, try it on, inspect it for scratches, ask about its history, and only pay when you are completely satisfied and have a good feeling about it.
– If you are buying something large, measure well if the dimensions fit in the car. Been there, done that.
