The meeting with the queen of the beauty world

ONLY JOSSELIN HAD TO GIVE UP HER SPOT...

She is known for the enormous cat eyes cat eyes she creates, has her own beauty line, and has also powdered quite a few beautiful and famous faces. Charlotte Tilbury has been a makeup artist for over twenty years and has worked with photographers like Mario Testino, Terry Richardson, and designers like Tom Ford, Stella McCartney, and Christopher Bailey. Oh, and Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz, and Rihanna regularly sit in her chair to get a nice makeup look. But for us, this was all still very much out of reach, and we had to travel to America to stock up on some powders to enjoy a little bit.

That is no longer the case. Oh, how incredibly jubilant we were when we heard that Miss Tilbury's makeup line was coming to the Netherlands. And I was hopping around when I heard that Mrs. Tilbury would personally come to Amsterdam to present it all. The small detail was that I couldn't go myself (think: hospital, tonsils, straws, ice creams, and especially just a lot of hassle) and that I had to send my dear and lovely intern Tessa to take my honors. And you understand, that dear and lovely Tessa had no problem with that at all.

Oh, and Kate Moss, Jennifer Lopez, Penelope Cruz, and Rihanna regularly sit in her chair to get a nice makeup look.

Well, I did give her an assignment. Because yes, it's nice that she got the prettiest look from Charlotte herself (I'm totally not enviously jealous, not at all), but she certainly couldn't come home without asking Mrs. Charlotte Tilbury about the Prada dress. She did that. For herself, for me, and for you. Because we can stock up on those products in a few weeks, but then we also need to get the golden tips. We have those in hand now, so now it's a matter of frantically stocking up on all that beauty. A royal look for everyone.

Which product are you most satisfied with and won't leave the house without?

“I won't leave the house without eye cream and concealer. They give a fresh appearance and hide fatigue. Always very necessary.”

Is there a beauty mistake that women can make?

“Yes, there is. Many women use too little makeup. Don't be afraid to use too much makeup. My products are packed per look in a box, so every woman knows exactly what she needs. I understand that it can be difficult sometimes because you can't see the forest for the trees, but don't be cautious. It's actually fun to experiment with it.”

What is your favorite product?

“My line of skincare products. They are so nice, so gentle, and so lovely. It is really the basis of your makeup. With good skin, you can create the most beautiful look much more easily. So, all to the cream.”
