The power of the yellow dress
Since today I have a new classic. It is a yellow dress from Vanilia and I bought it during my drunken shopping adventure. Well, I have no regrets about that. Because what a HIT it is! Look at me shine. People are liking it like crazy! And that in a dress from the quite respectable Vanilia.
Are you jealous now? Understandable, understandable. But I have good news, it is still for sale and not too expensive. Just look here at 9StraatjesOnline.
Good. Did I know in advance that it would be a hit? No! Or well, yes, maybe a little. Yellow is indeed the color of positivity, of summer, and of youth. And those are all things we want and/or desperately need. Add to that that yellow is really the hottest color of this season. Many spring/summer shows featured yellow, take for example the beautiful shows of Christopher Kane and Stella McCartney. Moreover, many celebs have also successfully ventured into yellow in recent years. This year it was a hit during the Cannes Film Festival (Anna Kendrick, Jessica Chastain) and the Golden Globes (Jennifer Lopez). So if all the stars are going for yellow, why should I lag behind? Well then! Am I not also a kind of star?
”Tell me that I am also a kind of star. I am trying so hard to be a kind of star”
However, I must get one thing off my chest: I found it a tricky situation to find the right shoes to go with the dress. Black with yellow is too harsh, too alternative in my opinion. And purple I find too flashy. But yellow is too boring again. And blue too tame. In the end, I decided to choose these golden shoes from Chloé, but orange, nude, or leather brown would have worked too. Make sure to take advantage of this conclusion.
I conclude with the words: yellow is the bomb. Yellow is (to quote the site We What Wear) the only colour that matters this year. And that's how it is, and nothing else.
